This workshop introduces students to five key components--metacognition, processing strategies, motivation, tactical knowledge, and preference awareness--to approach the advanced learning that college classes demand. Students engage in exercises to help them recognize their own mastery of these learning characterisitics and to practice them. The Rules of the Road is a great introduction to the other CLAS study skills workshops because participants will understand how the skills taught in the other titles fit into the larger picture of college learning.
